16 Blocks is a Great Rental- Must See
I reviewed this remarkable movie after seeing it in the theater with my son. Last night I watched it at home with Elizabeth in our home theater- (which has far superior sound than the local theaters.)
- This is a non stop thriller with rich relationships, with deep and persistant message. It is a movie about redemption.
- Mos Def & Bruce Willis are awesome.
- Willis' character is painful to watch in the first 15 minutes, "Life is too long and guys like you make it longer..." he says, and that about sums up how his character looks at life. But when he sees an assasin trying to kill his prisoner, Willis does a great job "waking up."
- Mos Def is a man who has a new lease on life. He's been a petty theif, but has recently discovered a small talent he has to brighten people's lives. He always looking for signs- positive signs in circumstances and in people. He never gives up on Willis' doomed character and before the end- changes Willis' life forever.
